The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter of the Standup for Women Society (SWS) has concluded its 2025 activities with a Thanksgiving Service and a humanitarian outreach, reaffirming its commitment to gratitude, community service and women-focused development. The disclosure was contained in a press release issued by the Secretary of the chapter, Lib Dr. Princess Joy Omagha Idam, on Saturday, December 14, 2025.

The thanksgiving service was held at the NTA Arena Chapel, Abuja, where members gathered for praise, songs, dancing and a sermon that highlighted the importance of appreciating God’s faithfulness at the close of the year.
From the place of worship, the organisation proceeded to Aso Village, Sabon Lugbe, under Kabusa Ward, where an outreach programme was carried out, reaching over 1,500 women and children with items including foodstuffs, hair accessories, household essentials, clothing, footwear and handbags.

Speaking on the exercise, the Chairperson of the SWS FCT Chapter, Lib Mina Daniels, said the outreach formed part of the organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities, adding that similar interventions would be extended to other parts of the FCT in the coming year.

The outreach also doubled as a show of solidarity with Hon. Princess Gladys Ngozi Joseph, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Councillor Candidate for Kabusa Ward, who described the exercise as massive and said the gesture would boost her chances ahead of the February 2026 elections.

Also speaking, the Women Leader of Aso Community, Comrade Tokwase Josiah, thanked the organisation for remembering the community, while a National Officer, Lib Grace Oshinyemi, urged members to begin preparations for 2026 as the chapter later paid a solidarity visit to the NTA Sports Inaugural End-of-Year Party Awards in support of its Treasurer, Lib Rachel Ayeni.
