The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has conveyed heartfelt felicitations to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who clocked 60, commending his role in improving government communication and public engagement.

In a goodwill message, Issa-Onilu said the minister’s leadership has brought greater coordination and clarity to how government policies and programmes are communicated to Nigerians.

He noted that under Idris’ stewardship, the information sector has witnessed more structured and consistent messaging, enabling citizens to better understand government initiatives and their impact.

According to him, the renewed focus on clarity and coherence has helped bridge communication gaps between the government and the public, while also strengthening confidence in official information channels.

Issa-Onilu described the minister as a focused and forward-looking leader whose commitment to public service has continued to shape national discourse around civic responsibility and patriotism.

“The clarity and structure introduced into government communication under his leadership have significantly improved public understanding of policies and programmes,” he said.

He added that the minister’s emphasis on responsible and timely communication has contributed to countering misinformation and reinforcing trust in government institutions.

The NOA boss further noted that the agency has drawn strength from the minister’s leadership, particularly in expanding its grassroots sensitisation efforts and deepening engagement across communities.

He said the ministry’s direction has also strengthened advocacy around national values such as unity, discipline and collective responsibility, which remain central to sustainable development.

Issa-Onilu reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the minister’s vision through sustained public enlightenment campaigns aimed at promoting active citizenship.
He prayed for continued success, long life and greater fulfilment for the minister.

Mohammed Idris oversees the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, where he coordinates government communication and public engagement strategies.
