The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said the large turnout recorded during the recent All Progressives Congress primary election in Kano State reflects strong public support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling party’s leadership.

Umahi made the remark while congratulating Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, on his success at the APC primary election in Kano.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nwaze, the minister said the outcome of the primary election would further strengthen collaboration between the legislature and the executive in pursuing programmes aimed at boosting economic development and infrastructure delivery across the country.

He noted that the turnout witnessed during the political exercise demonstrated the level of confidence Kano residents and party supporters continue to place in the APC leadership and its development agenda.

According to Umahi, the support extended beyond Abubakar to other prominent political figures, including Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, and former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The minister further reaffirmed confidence in the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda, describing it as a pathway to sustainable national transformation, while wishing Abubakar success in his continued political and legislative engagements.
