The Minister of Works, David Umahi, on Tuesday held discussions with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, over arrangements for a formal presentation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s infrastructure performance to the party’s National Working Committee.

The engagement, which centered on coordination for an upcoming briefing, is expected to set the stage for a detailed review of federal road and bridge projects being executed under the Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.

Sources familiar with the meeting said the discussion also touched on the need for a structured interface between ministers and the party leadership, particularly in assessing ongoing project delivery in key infrastructure sectors.

During the meeting, Umahi commended the APC leadership for introducing a televised accountability mechanism that enables ministers to present progress reports directly to the National Working Committee.

He also lauded the party leadership for what he described as a stable and inclusive internal democratic process, including the conduct of party primaries and broader stakeholder engagement.

In his remarks, Yilwatda praised the Works Minister for what he described as visible progress in infrastructure delivery, noting that Nigerians are already experiencing the impact of ongoing road and bridge interventions nationwide.

He added that the National Working Committee had continued to receive feedback on government projects through public engagement, media coverage, and on-the-ground developments even ahead of the formal briefing.

The APC chairman assured that the party leadership would soon schedule a formal session for Umahi to present a comprehensive update on the administration’s infrastructure achievements.

Umahi reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to sustaining infrastructure renewal efforts while addressing national development priorities.

After the meeting, the Minister proceeded to assess and respond to a developing situation at the Eko Bridge as part of his field oversight duties.
