The Northern Nigeria Minorities Group has hailed First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for raising ₦20.5 billion through the Oluremi @65 Education Fund to complete the long-abandoned National Library project.

In a statement signed by its Convener, Chief Jacob Edi (Kakaki Bassa-Nge), the group described the move as “historic,” noting that Senator Tinubu is the first First Lady to channel her influence into delivering a national project of such magnitude.

The group commended her for prioritising education and youth development over personal gain, stressing that reviving a project abandoned for more than 20 years reflects “transparency, patriotism, and vision.”

“By rekindling a culture of reading, the First Lady has safeguarded the future of Nigerian youths,” the statement added.

The group further urged wives of state governors to emulate Senator Tinubu by championing transformative initiatives that directly impact the lives of citizens.
