Goronyo Hails Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway as Game-Changer for Trade and Jobs

The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Bello Goronyo, Esq., has praised the progress of the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway project, describing it as a transformative national infrastructure initiative.

During an inspection tour of the Sokoto section on Thursday, September 11, 2025, the Minister visited key communities including Silame, Katame, Gade, and Binji to assess ongoing construction activities firsthand. He commended contractors, Hitech Construction Limited, for their dedication, efficiency, and adherence to international standards.

“This superhighway is not just for today; it is an investment in the future of our children and generations to come,” Hon. Goronyo said. He emphasized that the 1,068-kilometer project, a flagship of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, will boost regional integration, facilitate trade, create thousands of jobs, and enhance security and connectivity across states.

The Minister also expressed appreciation to security agencies for safeguarding workers and contractors and urged host communities to continue supporting the project.

Following the Sokoto inspection, Hon. Goronyo proceeded to Kebbi State, joining the Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Umahi, CON, for a joint assessment of the corridor. He lauded Senator Umahi’s leadership, noting it as pivotal to ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of the ambitious road project.
