The Zone 7 Police Headquarters, Abuja, has reinforced its commitment to professionalism, discipline, and community-oriented policing as it held its monthly general lecture for officers and men of the Command.

In a statement issued by ASP Halima Mohammed, Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Zone, AIG Victor Olaiya, brought together officers and men of the Command for strategic engagements aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening accountability, and enhancing service delivery within the Zone.

A major highlight of the lecture was a presentation by representatives of the Police Insurance and Force Headquarters, who educated officers on investment opportunities and financial planning. They encouraged personnel to adopt prudent financial habits and explore secure investment channels to ensure long-term welfare and stability.

The importance of discipline within the rank and file was strongly emphasized, with officers reminded that adherence to professional ethics remains central to effective policing and public trust. Officers were also sensitized on responsible online behaviour through a session on the Nigeria Police Social Media Policy, which outlined clear guidelines on appropriate digital conduct. Personnel were cautioned on the dangers of misuse of social media platforms and urged to uphold the image of the Force in all online engagements.

Reinforcing operational preparedness, the lecture charged the Operations Department to heighten vigilance and intensify security patrols as the Eid-el-Kabir festivities approach. Officers were directed to ensure the protection of lives and property across the Federal Capital Territory, Niger State, and other parts of the country during the festive period.

The session further reiterated the full activation of disciplinary mechanisms within the Force, warning that acts of misconduct and indiscipline would attract strict sanctions in line with established procedures.

In addition, officers were reminded of the mandatory requirement to wear clearly visible name tags on their uniforms, with the Command warning that defaulters would face appropriate disciplinary measures.

The Zone 7 Headquarters reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening community policing, enhancing police-public trust, and maintaining operational readiness in line with the vision of Nigeria Police Force.

The lecture underscored the Command’s drive to build a more professional, accountable, and citizen-focused policing system across its jurisdiction.
