A former Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Adamu Shettima Yuguda Dibal, has led a delegation of constituents to obtain the nomination form for Hon. Mukhtar Aliyu Betara ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The move, carried out on behalf of the lawmaker’s supporters, is seen as a strong demonstration of grassroots backing and confidence in Hon. Betara’s leadership and performance at the National Assembly.

Speaking during the exercise, Dibal described Hon. Betara as a committed public servant whose record in legislative responsibilities and constituency development has earned him widespread acceptance. He noted that the purchase of the nomination form by constituents represents a collective endorsement of continuity and effective representation.

Chairman of Biu Forum, Mohammed Ize Mamman, said members of the delegation, drawn from various wards and interest groups, expressed satisfaction with projects and interventions facilitated by the lawmaker, particularly in infrastructure, education, and social welfare.

He added that Hon. Betara’s accessibility and responsiveness to the needs of the people remain key reasons constituents are rallying support for his return.

In his reaction, Amb. Mustapha Betara Aliu described the development as a significant boost to the lawmaker’s political standing, noting that early mobilization often signals strong electoral backing. He thanked constituents for the show of support and urged them to sustain the momentum towards ensuring victory at the polls.

Hon. Betara is expected to formally respond to the gesture in the coming days, as consultations and mobilization efforts continue across the constituency.

The purchase of the nomination form marks a crucial step in the build-up to the party primaries, with stakeholders expressing optimism about a smooth process and a successful return for the lawmaker.
