The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has directed its South South Zonal Caretaker Committee to take charge of the Cross River State chapter following the expiration of the tenure of the state executive committee on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The decision, announced in a Press Statement by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, is to ensure continuity in the party’s activities ahead of the state congress scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025.

According to the statement, the caretaker committee, led by Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, will oversee the chapter’s affairs and liaise with the NWC to conduct the congress that will elect a new state executive committee.

The NWC called on leaders, stakeholders and members of the party in Cross River State to remain united and committed to the progress of the PDP.
