The Ministry of Interior has honoured officers who recently retired from public service, recognising their years of commitment and contributions to the Federal Government.

The event, held in Abuja, brought together senior officials and staff of the ministry to celebrate the retirees’ careers and service record. The Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, was represented at the ceremony by the Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.

Speaking on behalf of the minister, Dr. Ajani described the retired officers as key contributors to the ministry’s institutional growth, noting that their dedication and professionalism had helped strengthen public service delivery over the years. She added that their influence would continue to be felt beyond active service.

According to her, retirement does not diminish the relevance of experienced officers, stressing that the ministry would continue to draw from their knowledge and institutional memory when necessary.

The Director of Human Resource Management, Catherine N. Zosi, also commended the retirees, describing their service records as exemplary and worthy of emulation by younger officers within the ministry.

She noted that the values of discipline, integrity, and mentorship demonstrated by the retirees had contributed significantly to sustaining professionalism in the ministry.

The send-forth ceremony featured goodwill messages from colleagues and retirees, as well as the presentation of commendation certificates and gifts in recognition of the officers’ service to the nation.
