Says She Belongs to the Party of Progressive Ideals

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Major Olafimihan Akerejola, has appealed to Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to return to the APC, describing the ruling party as her “rightful political home” and the platform that best aligns with her progressive ideals.

In a statement made available to Liberal News on Monday, Akerejola praised the Kogi Central Senator for her courage, charisma, and contributions to national development, urging her to make what he called “a singular sacrifice on behalf of the masses” by joining the APC.

“My Distinguished Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, please come back home. The All Progressives Congress (APC) is your rightful party and the place to be,” Akerejola stated.

“I know that political hacks, opportunists, blackmailers, and anti-progressive elements from your constituency may feel threatened by your exposure, intelligence, and understanding of good governance, but you should rise above that and return to the APC.”

Akerejola commended Akpoti-Uduaghan for what he described as her people-oriented representation, saying she remains “the best representative ever to have emerged from Kogi Central Senatorial District.”

“You have touched lives in practical terms. You have distinguished between empowerment and dehumanization. While you execute life-changing projects and provide real support to your constituents, others with more resources merely share six yards of Ankara cloth in the name of empowerment,” he added.

The APC stalwart also lauded the senator’s contributions to national discourse and her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting that her return to the ruling party would further strengthen the government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

“I appeal to you, on behalf of the masses of Kogi Central and the nation at large, to come back to your rightful party, the APC. Under the APC, you will be able to do more for your constituents and contribute to moving the nation forward for the overall well-being of citizens,” Akerejola said.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, who currently represents Kogi Central in the National Assembly, was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections. She is yet to respond to Akerejola’s appeal as of press time.
