The Operation SAFE CORRIDOR (OPSC), a non-kinetic de-radicalization, rehabilitation and reintegration programme under the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), has dismissed as false a viral video alleging that repentant and active Boko Haram members are being armed and deployed alongside the Nigerian military.

In a statement issued by its Coordinator, Brigadier General Y. Ali, the programme described the claim as misleading and without factual basis, stressing that individuals processed under various state-level de-radicalization initiatives are not part of the federally coordinated framework operated by OPSC. The Defence Headquarters emphasized that the programme remains distinct from other rehabilitation arrangements outside its control.

OPSC further clarified that its only designated facility is located in Mallam Sidi, Gombe State, and maintained that the site shown in the circulated video does not correspond with its secured military environment. It also noted that the structural layout and operational setting portrayed in the footage contradict verified features of the official camp, while dismissing the individuals associated with the video, including Danish blogger Jones Raw, as having no access or affiliation with the facility.

Reaffirming its mandate under the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) security architecture, the programme stated that its operations are strictly non-kinetic, focusing on screening, rehabilitation, and reintegration of carefully profiled individuals without any form of arms training or combat deployment. It added that participants who complete the programme are handed over to relevant authorities for reintegration and continued monitoring.

The statement also highlighted the involvement of international partners, including the European Union, noting that such collaborations reinforce adherence to global standards and transparency in the rehabilitation process. It added that the inclusion of member countries such as Denmark further validates external confidence in the programme’s structure and accountability.

OPSC, however, urged caution against misinformation capable of undermining national security efforts, inviting Jones Raw and other interested observers to a monitored visit to its Mallam Sidi facility for independent verification. The programme reaffirmed its commitment to supporting long-term peacebuilding and counterterrorism efforts through structured non-violent interventions.
