Stakeholders in Nigeria’s road sector have commended the Federal Government for the quality of ongoing road infrastructure projects in Kaduna State, following a National Media Tour and project commissioning held on January 19, 2026.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North West), Hon. Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, alongside members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), COREN, host communities and road users, praised the standard of work, describing it as durable and aligned with global best practices.

“The quality of work being executed is of such a standard that the roads will outlive us,” Yakasai said, commending the Federal Ministry of Works and contractors for strict adherence to engineering standards and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

During the tour, three emergency intervention projects were commissioned, including Taban Sani Road in Makarfi LGA, Sabo Rail Bridge–Command Junction Road in Chikun LGA, and Mahuta Army Post-Service Housing Scheme Roads.

The Federal Controller of Works in Kaduna, Engr. Ulagu Loveday, said the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Expressway project was redesigned to adopt continuous reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP) to improve durability and reduce maintenance costs.

Leaders of the NSE in Kaduna affirmed that the projects meet professional standards and commended the Minister of Works, Sen. (Engr.) David Umahi, for prioritising quality.

Project managers handling major road projects in the state also assured the public of timely delivery and sustained quality, while stakeholders expressed optimism that the projects would significantly improve traffic flow and economic activities across the state.
