Nigeria has officially unveiled the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) 2026 with the slogan “No Wahala,” signalling the country’s readiness to host the global communication community in November next year.

The unveiling ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, drew top government officials, communication professionals, and international partners. The event, organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, marked the formal kickoff of preparations for the global forum.

Declaring the event open, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, FNIPR, described Nigeria’s hosting of the WPRF as both a national honour and a call to excellence.

“This aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to rebuild trust between government and citizens while promoting Nigeria’s positive image before the world,” he said. “In an age of disinformation, communication professionals must rise as custodians of truth and unity.”

The NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, described the forum as “the World Cup of Public Relations,” affirming Nigeria’s readiness to host delegates from over 120 countries.

“This is our time to show the world the authentic Nigeria creative, resilient, and responsible,” he said. “The forum is not just a PR celebration; it is a national project that gives us the chance to present Nigeria in its true image before the international community.”

He also announced that the global unveiling of the forum will take place next month in Dubai, UAE, to launch international awareness for the Abuja event.

The National Planning Committee Co-Chairman and Spokesperson, Mall. Yakubu Lamai, said in his address that the gains 2026 WPRF is envisioned to reflect the spirit of FESTAC ’77, capturing Nigeria’s confidence, cultural richness, and hospitality.

“The event will be seamless and world-class, a true reflection of who we are as a people,” Lamai assured.

Ministers who pledged institutional support included the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, CON, SAN, who assured efficient logistics and smooth travel for international delegates.

The World Public Relations Forum 2026 will take place in Abuja from November 15 to 21, 2026, with delegates expected from more than 60 countries
