The Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG) has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians on the country’s 65th Independence anniversary, praising the resilience of citizens while commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his policy direction and leadership.

In a statement signed by its Convener, Chief Jacob Edi, the NNMG said Nigeria’s six and a half decades of nationhood have been marked by trials that tested national unity, but stressed that the spirit of resilience, patience, and shared hope continues to hold the country together.

“We must salute the countless Nigerians who, in the face of adversity, have remained committed to the ideals of unity, peace, and progress. This is the core foundation upon which our nation is built,” the group said.

It paid glowing tribute to the country’s founding fathers and past leaders for their sacrifices, adding that the everyday contributions of ordinary Nigerians remain central to the nation’s endurance.

Commending Tinubu’s leadership, the NNMG noted that his courage and vision in tackling difficult national issues signpost his commitment to Nigeria’s long-term stability above political considerations.

“As we celebrate 65 years of independence, we must not forget that what has held us together is far greater than the forces that seek to divide us. Our diversity, resilience, and shared hope remain the major ingredient of the Nigerian spirit,” the statement added.

The group urged Nigerians across all backgrounds to renew their faith in the country, stay purpose-driven, and work collectively toward building a nation that fulfils the aspirations of its founding fathers.
