The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq., visited his alma mater, Nagarta College, Sokoto, on Sunday, 18th January 2026, during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the National Association of Nagarta Old Boys (NOBA).

A proud alumnus and Grand Patron of NOBA, Minister Goronyo used the occasion to reconnect with former classmates, celebrate the school’s achievements, and reaffirm his commitment to both the institution and Nigeria’s national development.

Speaking at the event, Goronyo expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and reflected on the significant role Nagarta College played in shaping his values, character, and leadership journey, which paved the way for his current position under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

“The lessons I learned at Nagarta College guide me daily as I work to transform Nigeria’s road infrastructure,” he said, highlighting the Ministry of Works’ focus on delivering quality road networks that promote national unity, economic growth, and sustainable development.

The Minister also recounted his tenure as Minister of Water Resources, during which over 100 solar-powered boreholes were provided to communities and institutions, including Nagarta College.

Goronyo commended the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, for the school’s infrastructural upgrades, including renovated buildings, improved roads, and environmental enhancements, noting the state government’s commitment to advancing education.

As part of his support for Nagarta College, the Minister announced a donation to NOBA and toured the school’s facilities, including classrooms and hostels, fondly revisiting his former student hostel.

He also offered prayers for continued peace, progress, and development for the school, Sokoto State, and the Federal Republic of Niger
