Minister Visits Site on  President Tinubu’s Directive, Assures Swift Action

The Federal Ministry of Works has announced that immediate emergency repairs will begin on a failed section of the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry and signed by Mohammed A. Ahmed, Director of Press and Public Relations, the Honourable Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, Esq., visited the site on Tuesday to assess the situation and kick-start emergency intervention efforts.

The affected section approximately 500 meters near the Federal Cooperative College at Abuja Junction in Kaduna has caused significant delays in the movement of people, goods, and services. As a major transport corridor linking key socio-economic zones, its deterioration has heightened the suffering of commuters and disrupted economic activity.

During the inspection, the Minister reiterated the importance of the road and reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to delivering motorable and safe highways nationwide, despite financial constraints.

“Mr. President is deeply concerned about the hardship experienced by Nigerians, and this swift intervention reflects his Renewed Hope Agenda for improved infrastructure and national development,” Goronyo said.

Speaking on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, CON, FNSE, Goronyo assured Nigerians that emergency repairs would commence without delay. He emphasized that the move is part of the government’s broader agenda to rehabilitate key roads and strengthen the country’s transportation network.

The Ministry appreciated the patience of road users and pledged to continue delivering quality infrastructure projects across the nation.
