The Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), in Abuja, aimed at strengthening inter-ministerial collaboration on infrastructure development and security-related projects.

A statement issued by the Senior Adviser (Media) to the Minister of State for Works said the engagement focused on fostering closer cooperation between the Ministries of Works and Defence in areas of national interest, particularly projects with implications for national security and economic development.

During the visit, Goronyo commended the Defence Minister for his commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and promoting peace and stability across the country.

He noted that effective synergy among strategic ministries remains critical to the successful implementation of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The goals of national development can only be achieved when ministries work collaboratively, especially in sectors where infrastructure and security intersect,” the Minister was quoted as saying.

In his response, General Musa welcomed the visit and reaffirmed the Ministry of Defence’s willingness to partner with the Ministry of Works on initiatives that strengthen national security and support sustainable development. He added that infrastructure plays a key role in enhancing operational effectiveness and improving socio-economic outcomes.

Both ministers expressed optimism about continued cooperation, and the Defence Minister presented a gift to
Goronyo at the end of the meeting, as a gesture of goodwill and mutual respect.
