The Minister of Works, Senator David Nweze Umahi, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Nigeria’s uninterrupted democratic rule, praising the president as a “champion of democracy” and visionary leader of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a message issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Umahi, speaking on behalf of the management and staff of the Federal Ministry of Works, lauded President Tinubu for his longstanding commitment to democratic governance and national transformation.

“Your struggle for the redemocratization of Nigeria and your emergence as the fifth democratically elected President of the Fourth Republic are clear indications of divine purpose and enduring vision,” Umahi said. “History will be kind to you for setting high standards and making bold decisions aimed at restoring Nigeria’s greatness on the African continent.”

The minister highlighted the president’s achievements in the works sector, noting “record-breaking accomplishments in road infrastructure” spread equitably across the six geo-political zones. He described the administration’s Renewed Hope Legacy Projects as pivotal in expanding the nation’s road network and connecting major economic corridors.

According to Umahi, these developments signal the dawn of a “regenerative democracy” in which institutions work collectively to create a nation of equal opportunity regardless of ethnicity, religion, or social status.

He also praised the collaboration among the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary, describing them as “pillars of democracy” committed to national development.

Concluding his message, Umahi offered prayers for President Tinubu’s continued success, saying: “May God continue to prosper your aspirations and grant you the grace to fulfill your vision for the nation.”
