Governor Radda Appoints Nura Tela as New Accountant General of Katsina State

The administration of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD, has unveiled key appointments that reinforces financial leadership within the Katsina State government.

These appointments were unveiled in a statement signed by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Katsina State Governor.

Malam Nura Tela, who hails from Jikamshi in Musawa Local Government of Katsina State, has been appointed as the Accountant General of the State. Nura Tela’s dedication and expertise shine through his prior role as a Technical Assistant to the Governor, with a specific focus on Treasury Matters. His official appointment will take effect on August 31, 2023.

A graduate of Accounting from Bayero University Kano, with more than a decade of experience in the banking industry and many years in the public sector as a Federal Auditor in the office of the Auditor General for the Federation.

He served as the Special Assistant to the then Director General (SMEDAN) Malam Dikko Umaru Radda from 2016 to 2022 and later Mr Wale Fasanya the present DG of SMEDAN from 2022 to July 2023 when he was appointed as Technical Assistant to the Governor on Treasury Matters. Malam Tela is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Alhaji Malik Anas, a devoted servant to the state for 35 years as the outgoing Accountant General, is scheduled to retire from civil service on August 30, 2023. In his new role as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Banking and Finance, he remains committed to elevating the state’s financial standards.

These appointments, designed to bolster financial leadership and strategic direction in the state, have generated positive anticipation. Governor Radda’s dedication to fortifying the state’s financial landscape is evident in these meticulously selected appointments.

Both Malam Nura Tela and Alhaji Malik Anas will officially assume their new responsibilities on August 31, 2023. The Governor’s office holds unwavering confidence in their capacity to make substantial contributions to the ongoing growth and development of the state.
