As Kogi State College of Education Ankpa Owed 31 Months ,Employing New Staffs

Newly employed staffs of Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba says lack of payment of 24 salary while working had made life more miserable for them and their families.

This is also applicable to some lecturers of Kogi state college of Education Ankpa who are working in the last 31 Months, yet without salaries.

Most of the staffers had been in the service of the Institution for over one decade.

The State College of Education recently employed over 100 new staffs that ended in crises as a section of the state was highly favoured.

An appeal had gone out to Kogi Governor, to passionately come to their aide to offset their areas of 24 months on the job which the current management under Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche turned down , feigning it is beyond her jurisdiction.

The immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Professor M.S Abdulkadri carried out the employment based on the needs assessment during his term in office.

While still in the services of the University with active engagement both at the departmental programs of the University, yet without emoluments in the last 2 years.

They implored the state government to out or compassion and magnanimity direct Management of the university to offset their arears.

‘Life became so miserable and difficult for young men and women of kogi indigenes who were engaged into the service of kogi State University Anyigba now Prince Abubakar Audu University, into various faculties and department to fill the vacant position of the staff sacked for not complying with the directive of the state government.’

‘The staff were employed by the past administration of Prof Momosani Abdulkadri, the then vice Chancellor of the university, all efforts to be captured and pay their salaries and entitlements suffered a set back as the present administration of Prof Marietu Tenuche assume office, who bluntly asked them to meet the administration that employed them or the top government officials who helped them secure the offer… ‘

‘The group leader name withheld told our reporters how some of them have been working since they engaged them, did the documentation giving courses and other various assignments in the school.’

‘The staff are facing alot of difficulties as the results of non payment of their salaries since 24months… The staff are calling on the executive governor of the state, Alh Yahaya Bello to come to their aids as life is going out of them…’
