The media Directorate of the Yagba Federal Constituency campaign Council has advised the candidate of the ADC to desist from falsehood in an attempt to mislead the good people of the Constituency. Reacting to a statement credited to the media team of the ADC that their candidate pays full amount of WAEC fees despite investigation reveals that he only pays 13,500 as against what was claimed to the public. The party describe Hon Leke Abejide of unfairly misleading the public for political gains.
In a terse statement signed by the Media and Publicity S.A Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Michael Abu, the party stated categorically that the ADC media team avoided the issue of accountability in the use of the Constituency allowance ordinarily meant to address the socio-economics challenge of the immediate Constituencies.The ADC is faced with the challenge, pressure and public resentment from the good people of the yagba East Constituency as it’s now clear to the people that most projects and empowerment Hon Leke Abejide ascribe to himself, are actually funded with the Zonal intervention funds and never his personal resources. The Media Directorate challenged the house member to come out clean on this allegations by providing details of how the intervention fund was expended.
The PDP describe the ADC as directionless and was fortunate to win the last election because of the support gotten from the PDP and APC in the last election, the party advise party member not to worry about the opposition and distraction but focus on mobilising support for the party candidate
On the issue of payment of WAEC for student, the party stated clearly that ADC candidate only imitated the PDP as the payment of the fee started in Yagba under Hon. Salaudeen Ganiyu, popularly known as Erukutu as Caretaker Chairman, a feat taken over by Hon. Chief T.J Faniyi, who later as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, encouraged, supported and presurrised the government of Kogi state under the leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, the former Governor of the state to take the responsibility of making full payment of the WAEC fees In line with the educational policy of that administration, an endeavour also inherited by Captain idris Wada.
In its response, the PDP reteriated that the comment of the ADC is an attempt to divert attention from the crux of the matter and that the candidate of the ADC is confused, nervy and intimidated by the political support and past achievements of the candidate of the PDP while he was opportuned to be at the lower Chambers. Unlike the ADC that is facing threat of defeat at the poll, the PDP is not only alive and constantly expanding the chances of winning the next election but also strong, united and focused on its mission to rescue, rebuild and redirect the Federal constituency from the current misrule of the ADC.
The PDP stated in their statement that they are also focused on revealing the truth to the good people of the Constituency far and wide about the misleading information that he Hon Leke Abejide pays the WAEC fees fully and with his personal resources. The Media Directorate challenged Hon Leke Abejide to respond to the allegations on the Zonal intervention funds, the issues of Payment of WAEC fully and the past antecedents of paying WAEC in the Federal constituency. It’s no longer a secret to the supposed beneficiaries of the payment that Hon Leke Abejide pays just a percentage as against the full payment he gloat about. The party also noted that, the ADC candidate has never at anytime, told the people that he is only paying a fraction of the money, which is less than 50% of the total money, without which no student will be able to sit for the exam. He has consistently and falsefully gloat to the public and national media on the full payment of WAEC fees to the Constituents.
The PDP expresses disappointment about the blatant lie on the achievements of Hon Faniyi and how he only pay the fees of the children of the party faithful, this is not only malicious, ridiculous but with intent to misrepresent and shield the truth from the public. It is known to everyone that the initial payment made by Hon Faniyi was scrutinised by a committee that has no party colouration whatsoever, the first sets of students were purely selected by a committee with likes of an educationist, Alhaji Sule Isiaka, a former and pioneer Principal of Oluyori Muslim Comprehensive High School Isanlu for exceptionally brilliant and indigent students who couldn’t afford to pay. The payment made by Hon Ganiyu Salaudeen and the state Government was intentionally omitted and no reason was given, just as they also misconstrue and mistaken a constituency Briefing which has never taken place to a meeting of party faithfuls
In conclusion, the PDP advised the ADC to endeavour to the put facts and figures out there instead of making a loud and invidious noise over a feat that they did not Set the pace.
