The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, and scores of his supporters stormed the Wadata Plaza secretariat of the party on Friday.

Secondus entered his office at 9.51pm ahead of the 10.00am National Working Committee meeting.

His action is premised on a Court order issued by a Birnin Kebbi High Court reinstating him as chairman.

A Rivers State High Court had last week restrained Secondus from parading himself as National Chairman until the determination of the substantive suit.

Acting on the order, the party organs including the NWC, the Board of Trustees as well as the party’s Governors Forum ratified the Deputy National Chairman (South) Yemi Akinwonmi, as Acting National Chairman, after a series of meetings on Thursday.

However, in a twist to the saga, a Kebbi State High Court sitting in Birnin-Kebbi issued a stay of execution and reinstated Secondus as Chairman.
