Former Kogi Governor,Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has enjoined Moslems to imbibe utter restraint as demonstrated during the holy month or Ramadan fast, in line with the religious injunction.
Alhaji Ibrahim Idris during his salah message to mark this year’s Ei-dil fitr congratualted the Moslems for witnessing this year’s occassion.
He urged them to use the opportunity to demonstrate Love,affection and peaceful co-existence in line with the preachings of the holy book.
In the same vein, member representing Dekina/Bassa in the House of Representatives,Alhaji Hassan Abdullahi Baiwa says the celebration of this year’s festival desire alot of restraint, in view of global health challenges hovering around the world,stating that it is time to take full charge of their personal hygiene.
He commended the Moslem brothers and sisters for navigating through the Ramadan fast period at this critical times when Nigeria and the world at large is going through the health emergency of COVID-19 disease.
Baiwa advised that the Celebrations of this year’s to be characterise with self isolation,self distancing and constant washing of hands with clean water frequently,and avoid gesticulation of hands towards the nose and the mouth.
He advised his constituents not to be overriden by the period of Sallah celebrations,saying the COVID-19 ailement is real and deadly,praying that Kogi state will continue to be insulated from the scourge..
In another developement, Former PDP Governorship aspirant in the last Kogi Governorship election,Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim has sent a message of felicitation to Moslems for the commencement and completion of Ramadan fast,in view of the biting economic and health challenges.
Abubakar in a statement signed by the media consultant,Mallam Abubakar Yusuf asked Moslems to use the sacred month of Ramadan fast to embrace one another,in the spirit of the month and in line with the injunctions of the holy books.
According to the media aide,the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan doubles many years of other Islamic calendar, hence the need to be guided by the lessons learnt within the one holy sacred month .
Abubakar described the one month spiritual exercise as a period of sober reflection, religious tolerance,human kindness and above all,love for the less priviledge in the society.
Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim says the well to do in the society should use their fortunes to support the needy in the society,so as to attract God’s blessings, protection and shield.
He prayed for many more years of this auspicious occasion.
