Prospective applicants to the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, have been advised not to fall for online messages announcing a date for the institution’s entrance examination and screening exercise.
The Academy said no date had been officially approved for the exercise, describing messages circulating on social media and through text messages as false and potentially intended to defraud applicants.
The warning was contained in a public notice issued on Saturday by the Academy’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Umar Musa Isah.
Isah urged applicants to disregard anyone claiming to have advance information about the examination date, particularly individuals or platforms requesting money or offering unofficial assistance with the admission process.
He said the Academy would announce the examination date only after receiving the necessary official approval.
According to him, the announcement would be made through the Academy’s verified social media accounts and official website.
Applicants seeking clarification, updates or wishing to lodge complaints were also advised to use the Academy’s authorised communication channels rather than relying on third-party platforms.
The Academy specifically encouraged prospective candidates to follow its verified WhatsApp channel and official Facebook page for updates on the admission process.
The warning followed the circulation of messages claiming that the entrance examination had already been scheduled.
The Academy reassured applicants that no date had been fixed and urged them to remain patient while waiting for an official announcement.
It also reiterated that information concerning the admission process would be communicated through verified and authorised channels to prevent applicants from being misled by fraudsters.
