The Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, has thrown his weight behind the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the administration should be given another term to build on its achievements in infrastructure, economic reforms, security and national development.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Minister’s Special Assistant (Media), Abdullahi Mohammed, Goronyo made the remarks on Tuesday during the flag-off of the ₦178.12 billion Mando–Birnin Gwari Road project in Kaduna State.
The minister said the 122-kilometre highway represents another milestone in the Federal Government’s drive to improve the country’s road network and accelerate economic development through critical infrastructure.
He described the project as a strategic investment that would improve connectivity, ease the movement of people and goods, facilitate trade, strengthen security and unlock economic opportunities for communities along the corridor.
According to him, the highway will serve as a major transport link between northern and southern Nigeria by reducing travel time, lowering transportation costs, improving access to markets, creating jobs and supporting security operations.
Goronyo said the project reflects the Federal Government’s resolve to deliver durable infrastructure that promotes economic growth, national integration and a better quality of life for Nigerians.
He credited President Tinubu with making infrastructure development a central pillar of the Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that the ongoing road projects across the country demonstrate the administration’s commitment to economic prosperity and national development.
“The numerous landmark road projects being executed across the country under President Tinubu’s administration have continued to earn the confidence and support of Nigerians,” the minister said.
He also commended the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, for his leadership in delivering quality road infrastructure, particularly through the adoption of rigid pavement technology.
The minister acknowledged the cooperation of the Kaduna State Government led by Governor Uba Sani, describing the partnership between the federal and state governments as vital to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects.
He urged traditional rulers, community leaders, youths and residents to support the contractor throughout the execution of the project and called on the construction firm to comply with approved standards and complete the work within schedule.
Goronyo expressed confidence that the Mando–Birnin Gwari Road would, upon completion, improve transportation, boost commercial activities, enhance security and drive socio-economic development in Kaduna State and across the country.
