World Refugee Day; Group Cautions Nigerians On IDPs.

As Nigeria mark “World Refugee Day” a call had gone to Nigerians to take cognisance of the current economic situations as it reflects the plights of person’s of concern POCs.

The call became necessary in view of insinuations and instigations from different quarters that prompted the needless protests of the IDPs in Durumi, Abuja recently.

A leader of the ‘ Vulnerable Persons’ Charles Ugwu gave the advise in a message to mark this year’s occasion.

He says the current leadership at the National Commission for Refugees Migrants and internally Displaced Persons NCFRMI under Imaan Suleiman-ibrahim is the best thing that will happen to the agency in recent times, given series of ongoing reforms since assumption of office one year ago.

The provision of basic amenities like feeding, quality health care, befitting accomodation,skill development, capacity building for IDPs among many others was worth commendation.

He appealed to the IDPs not to succumb to negative tendencies, as the camp is a temporary transit camp occupied as a result of the unfortunate situations and circumstances they find themselves.

‘There is need to support the leadership and the Ministry and commission in their quest to create an enabling and conducive environment for the IDPs, persons of concern POCs.’

He appealed for more supports both from the well placed individuals and the private sector, saying government had invested alot in humanitarian services in Nigeria.
