Former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has been appointed by the People’s Democratic Party PDP as member zoning committee for the 2023 general elections representing Kogi state.

The 37 member committee set up by the National body is to confer with the top echelon of the party on the internal arrangements of PDP to zone each elective position of the party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Idris is a member of the formidable forum of PDP former governors in Nigeria, a think thank and decision making body set up to interface in the smooth running of the party from the state to federal level.

The new committee is expected to carry out a thorough and unbiased decisions capable of driving the party to victory in line with the internal workings and democracy in the main opposition party, PDP in 2023.

Having placed the party in the vantage position to reclaim power both at the states and national level, the new committee will play a crucial advisory roles to the party aimed towards seamless return to power at the national level.

Reacting to the development, former kogi Govenor said he will be readily available to form part of the decision that will take PDP to greater heights from states to federal level.

He stressed that the new assignment will be another opportunity to serve the party consciously towards returning to power in 2023.
