UMOMI COMMUNITY CRIES OUT TO HON. DAVID ZACHARIAS TO HELP AS EROSION THREATENS THEIR ONLY ACCESS ROAD.

Residents of Umomi community in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, have called for urgent intervention of member Representing Idah Federal Constituency as erosion threatens their only link road.

 

They called on Zacharias to support their efforts towards fixing the road abandoned for many years.

 

The 5-kilometer road in umomi links the Ochadamu to the State Capital lokoja, schools, and residential buildings in the area.

 

The councilor representing Ochadamu Ward, Hon. Jonathan Thomas who drawn the attention of the federal lawmaker to their ordeal following the collapse of the road described their experience as hell using that road to connect to other nearby community

Stating that apart from the deplorable nature of the road, gully erosion had also eaten up a great portion of the road. He said it posed a great danger to the community, especially during rainy seasons.

 

The member, alongside the Kogi East Ag. Zonal Chairman of All Progressive Congress APC, Hon. Nasir Alfa Muhammad who was on their way from the 40th day of fidau prayers of a mother of a political ally in Idah yesterday visited the community to ascertain the level of damages and promise to use his good office through the ministry of works to come to their aide as soonest.

This particular road is very strategic because it connects many villages to even the Holley memorial Hospital Ochadamu, Divisional Police station. But most importantly this road leads to the State capital, Lokoja, and the federal capital territory (FCT) the lawmaker said.
