Barely few days to the constitutionally provided time line,the Supreme Court will deliver judgement on Friday, in a case of pre-election brought by Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, PDP Governorship aspirant in the last Kogi Governorship election, held in Lokoja in September 2019.

 

Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim approached the apex court in April, following the non- declaratory judgement delivered by the lower court,Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The Supreme Court is constitutionally status bound to deliver judgement in a pre-election matter sixty days after the filling, in line with the new alteration and amedmement to the Nigerian constitution.

 

Abubakar Ibrahim is seeking to be declared winner in the September 2019 contest, having scored the highest number of votes casted by Kogi PDP delegates.

PDP declared his closest rival in the contest, Engineer Musa Wada as the party’s candidate for the Kogi state Governorship election held in November 16 last year.

 

The decision of the supreme Court on Friday, will open another chapter of intra political developement and strengthen internal democracy in both the opposition and the ruling party.
