Kogi/NCDC; Former PDP Governorship Aspirant,H.E. Joseph Ameh Erico Bares His Mind Cautions Kogi Goverrment On COVID-19 Status,Says Test Is The Only Solution

One Of The People’s Democratic Party, PDP Governorship aspirant in the last September primary election,Dr Joseph Ameh Erico says the ongoing war of words between the State Government and the National Centre For Disease Control (NCDC),will not augur well for the improvement of health care needs of the people of the state.

PDP starlwart says the only way to ressolve the ongoing impasse on the status of COVID-19 in Kogi state and it’s citizens, is to subject suspected case to laboratory test and examination.

Chief Erico deplore the politicisation of COVID-19 free status of Kogi state or not,will not be in the best interest of the citizens,whose desire is to ensure a disease free society in all it’s nooks and crannies.

Erico maintained that COVID-19 is real,and prevalent both in developed and developing countries like Nigeria,stating the that the effects of the pandemic in countries like U.S. U.K.and Asian countries should not be taken for granted in Nigeria .

According to Dr Ameh Erico,’Kogi state does not need to create panic, adamant and politics in our quest to address the current global health emergencies, that had ravaged most developed countries of the world and led to collapse of their economies’


‘Even though nobody wish Kogi to be flooded with COVID-19 disease,but at the same time,we need to take precautionary measures to follow the process of any suspected cases to be unravel without hitches’ .

In the same vein,he appeal to Kogi indigenes not to take for granted the presence of the COVID-19 ailement,and advise on precautionary measures and health hygiene required by the current scourge.

He warned on the consequences of not staying safe,washing of hands every now and then,avoid handshake, and crowd,wearing of face mask as well as maintain social distancing.

He reiterated his confidence in subjecting any suspected case or index in Kogi to laboratory examination,so as to contain the easy spread of the pandemic to all other places in the state .
